Block Out Levels 850-853: Four New Expert Boards and Video Solutions

Block Out Levels 850-853: four new Expert boards added on 21 October 2026, each with a walkthrough page and a video solution.

Four more boards arrived on 21 October 2026: Level 850, Level 851, Level 852 and Level 853. All four are Expert-tier boards with a published video walkthrough, and they take the level library up to 853. This log covers them as a single batch, following on from the 840-849 level log.

The 850s keep the same routing problems as the late Expert boards. The board is crowded, several colors share the center, and the first few moves decide how much working space is left for everything that follows. There is no new mechanic to learn here; the challenge is reading the board before the first slide.

The four newest boards

All four were published on the same day and share the same Expert rating. If you are working through the range in order, treat them as one stretch: the habits that get you through one are the habits the others expect.

Start by identifying which color has the fewest usable routes. On the dense Expert boards that color usually sets the order, because every other move either preserves its route or closes it. Do not clear the biggest group first just because it looks efficient; clear the color whose exit is about to disappear.

Level 851

Level 851 asks the same question in a different layout: which block is acting as a door for another color? Move that block only when the route behind it is ready. A block that looks like clutter is often the one keeping a lane open.

Level 852

The opening here rewards patience over speed. Clear a small color early to buy working space, then leave the center alone until the outer lanes are free. If you clear the center first, the remaining blocks usually have nowhere to slide.

Level 853

The newest board is also the tightest of the four. Count the routes for every color before the first move, then start with the one that has a single viable exit. A clean restart is faster than rescuing a jammed position where no block has a route.

What the 850s ask for

These boards repeatedly test the same four habits as the rest of the late Expert stretch:

  • Read every door before moving. The door layout is the map; the blocks are traffic.
  • Protect the center. The shortest route is also the first one to jam.
  • Clear constrained colors early. A color with one approach cannot wait while you clear something easier.
  • Wait for moving obstacles. Generators and elevators reward timing more than speed.

If a board jams completely, restart early. On these levels a clean restart is usually faster than trying to rescue a position where no block has a route.

A short checklist for the range

Before each move, ask:

  1. Is the first block's route actually open?
  2. Which color has the fewest routes after this move?
  3. Does this move close a door that another color still needs?
  4. Is a generator about to refill the space I just cleared?
  5. Is the elevator aligned, and is the landing lane clear?

If any answer is wrong, stop and re-read the board. The difference between a clean clear and a slow one is usually a single early decision.

Using the walkthroughs

The video is the verified solve; the notes above describe how to read the board, not a transcribed move list. A useful routine is:

  1. Watch the opening of the video, up to the first color that leaves the board.
  2. Restart and reproduce that opening yourself.
  3. Finish the board without the video.
  4. If it jams, rewatch only the section where your route diverged.

Every level in this range has a page with the board preview, difficulty rating and embedded walkthrough. Browse all Block Out levels for the full library, or return to the 840-849 log for the previous stretch.
