Block Out Levels 860-865: Six New Expert Boards and Video Solutions

Block Out Levels 860-865: six new Expert boards, each with a walkthrough page, board preview and a video solution.

Six more boards are live: Level 860 through Level 865, all rated Expert and all with a published video walkthrough. That extends the level library from 859 to 865 and continues the run started in the 854-859 level log.

The newest boards keep the same shape as the late 850s. The grids are dense, several colors want the same corridor, and the opening two or three moves usually decide whether the rest of the board stays workable. Nothing new is introduced mechanically; the challenge is reading the board before the first slide.

The six newest boards

All six carry the Expert rating and arrived in one batch. Treat them as a single stretch: the board-reading habits that clear one will clear the next.

Start by counting routes rather than colors. Whichever color has the fewest usable exits sets the order for everything else, and on this board that color is usually not the one that looks most crowded.

The center is the trap here. Clear an outer group first to buy working space, then return to the middle. Taking the shortest route immediately tends to wall off the blocks that still need it.

Watch for the block that is doubling as a door for another color. It looks like clutter, but moving it early closes a lane that a later color still needs. Move it only once that lane is clear.

Timing matters more than order on the moving parts. Wait for the elevator to line up and confirm the landing lane is empty before sending a block into it; a blocked landing wastes the whole cycle.

This one has almost no slack. Clear the constrained colors first and leave the short central route for last. If a queue starts to form, stop and re-check which doors are still open instead of pushing on.

The newest board is the tightest of the six. Read every color's routes before the first move, then open with the single-exit color. If the position jams, a clean restart is faster than rescuing a board where nothing has a route.

What the mid-860s ask for

The same four habits still decide these boards:

  • Read every door before moving. The door layout is the map; the blocks are traffic.
  • Protect the center. The shortest route is also the first one to jam.
  • Clear constrained colors early. A color with one approach cannot wait while you clear something easier.
  • Wait for moving obstacles. Generators and elevators reward timing more than speed.

Using the walkthroughs

The video is the verified solve; the notes above describe how to read the board, not a move-by-move script. A routine that works well on these boards:

  1. Watch the opening of the video, up to the first color that leaves the board.
  2. Restart and reproduce that opening yourself.
  3. Finish the board without the video.
  4. If it jams, rewatch only the section where your route diverged.
