Block Out Levels 884-889: Six More Expert Boards and Video Solutions

Block Out Levels 884-889: six Expert boards, each with a walkthrough page, board preview and a video solution.

The level library now runs to Level 889, with 884 through 889 added as a single batch. All six carry the Expert rating and all six have a published video walkthrough. This continues the run from the 878-883 level log and puts the 900 mark within reach.

Nothing about the difficulty curve changes here. The boards are dense, the free lanes are narrow, and the first few slides still decide whether the board stays workable. What does shift is the cost of a wasted move: with this little slack, one block sent down the wrong lane often has to be undone before the next color can move at all.

The six newest boards

Read them as one stretch. The habits that clear the first of the six carry through the rest, so a board you solve here is a template for the next one.

Start by counting doors per color rather than blocks per color. The color with the fewest doors is the schedule, and everything else arranges itself around it. Clears that look easy early on often belong to a color that had another way out all along.

The tempting first move is the big obvious group near the edge. It usually is not the right one. Check whether the space it frees is space any other color actually needs before you commit a lane to it.

Moving pieces decide this one. Watch a full cycle of the lift or generator before sending anything into it, and keep one short lane open as a buffer. A block parked in the wrong spot on a timing board turns into an obstacle for every color behind it.

Plan the order of departure, not the order of arrival. Two colors may share the same door bank, and whichever leaves second inherits the traffic the first one creates. Send the shared-door color that has fewer alternatives first.

This board punishes tidying. Clearing colors in a neat visual order fills the center with blocks that only look organised. Work from the constraining route outward and leave the wide, forgiving lanes for the last few colors.

The tightest of the six and the current end of the library. Before the opening slide, trace one route for every color and note which routes cross. If two colors depend on the same crossing, that crossing is your first priority, not your last.

Reading Expert boards without a script

The video shows a verified solve, but the useful skill is recognising the shape of the board:

  • Count doors, not blocks. A color with one exit sets the schedule for the whole board.
  • Protect the short routes. The shortest path between a block and its door is also the one that jams first.
  • Respect the shared crossings. When two colors need the same lane, the order between them is the puzzle.
  • Pause at moving obstacles. Waiting one cycle is cheaper than recovering a blocked landing.
  • Restart early. If the board has no route for any color, another nudge will not create one.

Using these walkthroughs

Every level in this range has its own page with the board preview, difficulty rating and embedded solution. A pattern that works well on these boards:

  1. Watch only until the first color has left the board.
  2. Restart and replay that opening yourself.
  3. Carry on alone until you stall.
  4. Rewatch from the point where your route diverged, not from the beginning.
