Block Out Levels 896-901: Six Expert Boards That Cross the 900 Line

Block Out Levels 896-901: six Expert boards with walkthrough pages, board previews and video solutions for each level.

The library stops at Level 901 now. 896 through 901 went up as one batch, all six rated Expert, and all six have a video walkthrough on the site and on YouTube. The previous batch was 890-895, so this picks up exactly where that run ended and carries the library past the 900 line.

Nothing about the boards gets easier at this end of the list. Same narrow lanes, same crowded opening, same scarcity of corrections. What changes here is how early the board commits you: on most of these six, the first two colors decide whether the rest of the solve has a route at all, and there is no cheap way back once that order is wrong.

The six newest boards

Each entry below has the board preview, a link to its own page and the video solution. Watch the video only as far as the first color leaving the board, then restart and replay that part yourself before watching the rest.

The opening is a sorting problem, not a routing one. Three colors sit in one cluster and only one of them has a clean first move. Find that color before you touch anything; the other two become easy the moment the cluster has a gap in it.

Two colors share the same short lane here, and neither has a second option. Send the one whose blocks are already grouped first, then keep the lane clear while the loose blocks of the other color catch up. Splitting them halfway is what loses this board.

A timing board with a moving piece that blocks a whole row on part of its cycle. Watch it complete one full pass before you commit a block into that row. Anything parked there a beat too early turns into a wall for two colors at once.

Level 899

The generous-looking center is the trap. Filling it in a tidy visual order looks organised and closes the outer routes before you notice. Work from the tight outer route inward instead, and leave the wide center lane for the last two colors.

Level 900

The milestone board, and it plays like one. Dense opening, four colors competing for two lanes. Trace a route for every color before your first slide and mark the crossings. Whichever crossing carries two colors is the move to protect; everything after that is maintenance.

The current end of the library and the least forgiving of the six. The single-door color sets the clock, and it is not the color with the most blocks. Start with the biggest group and you spend the opening clearing space nobody needs.

What to watch for on these boards

The video is a verified solve, not a script. The useful part is the shape of the board:

  • One door, one schedule. A color with a single exit decides the order of everything else.
  • Crossings before colors. If two colors share a lane, the order between them is the puzzle.
  • Moving pieces need a full cycle. Watch the lift or generator go all the way round once before committing.
  • Leave the wide lane last. The forgiving route is the one you want available when the board is nearly clear.
  • Restart without guilt. If no color has a workable route, one more nudge will not make one.

How to use the walkthroughs

Every level from 896 to 901 has its own page with the board preview, difficulty rating and embedded video. A method that holds up on Expert boards:

  1. Watch only up to the first color leaving the board.
  2. Restart and replay that opening yourself.
  3. Keep going alone until you stall.
  4. Rewatch from the point your route went wrong, not from the start.
